ARCA helps members that pay the CITB levy claim grants and funding for training and NVQs.
Since 2018, ARCA have been a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO), helping companies that pay the CITB levy claim grants and funding for training and NVQs.
If you are a small or medium sized company, registered with the CITB, (not just those employers who pay the levy), you could claim grants and extra funding to support your training needs.
Between 2021 and 2023 ARCA helped members gain over £20,000 in funding for their training and NVQs.
Don’t miss out on funding you could be eligible for. ARCA is holding monthly briefings to explain how to claim funding for members. These are free, however please register your place. Dates can be found here..

“Attend a briefing. It’s easy and self-explanatory, as you’re paying the CITB levy it’s important to get some of the funding back to help the business and staff development.”

What are CITB Grants?
The CITB Grants Scheme provides grants to employers registered with the CITB, (not just to employers who pay the levy). So, smaller companies can claim grants for asbestos training and qualifications for employees.
ARCA can help you claim two types of grants...
Short Course Grant for Asbestos Training
A short course grant is paid on the achievement of short duration courses (from 3 hours to 29 days) which are delivered by a CITB Approved Training Organisation, such as ARCA.
The grant available is based on three tiers (varying from £30-£120) which is determined by the duration and content of the course.
The short course grant is an automated process, whereby a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) such as ARCA make the application on behalf of an employer.
Short-Period Qualification Grant
The CITB pay grants on the achievement of approved short-period qualifications, such as NVQs,that are focused on the core skills needed across the industry and take less than one year to complete.
If your business is eligible you could receive up to £600 per candidate NVQ achievement.
The grant scheme runs from 1 April to 31 March. Further details, including terms and conditions, and how to apply are available on the CITB website.
What is the CITB Skills and Training Fund?
The CITB Skills and Training Fund is an extra incentive for employers registered with the CITB regarding the Levy.
This funding is in addition to grants, and available towards qualifications/NVQs, and training for asbestos removal operatives, supervisors, and managers.
The funds available will vary between:
Employers with 1 to 49 directly-employed staff can receive up to £5,000
Employers with 50 to 74 directly-employed staff can receive up to £7,500
Employers with 75 to 99 directly-employed staff can receive up to £10,000.
Please note that an employer can apply twice in 12 months but can only have 1 live project at a time.
