NVQs for Operatives and Supervisors
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are based on the national occupational standards of performance covering all the main aspects of a role. That is, the knowledge, understanding and skills required to be competent in performing the job. An NVQ is a benchmark competency qualification for the operatives and supervisors in the asbestos removal industry.
Why get an NVQ?
NVQs verifies that the individual has the skills, knowledge and experience for the role. Also, if working on large construction sites a CSCS Card may be needed. An NVQ is one of the requirements to gain a card.
How to get an NVQ
ARCA can help operatives and supervisors gain an NVQ in the quickest and easiest way, by managing the whole process for their employer.
Firstly, by talking to ARCA the right assessment route can be selected for each candidate.
Then an ARCA Assessor will guide the candidates through the process. Being pro-active in arranging assessments on-site, to observe/discuss the candidates' knowledge/understanding of their role, and therefore gather evidence of competency.
